Cardamom Seeds - Boil 1/4 teaspoon powdered cardamom seeds in thin tea water and drink.

Cashewnut - Cashewnuts are also a valuable remedy for the treatment of patients suffering from depression. Cashenut is very rich in Vitamin B GROUP - especially thiamine, which is good for depression patients.

Ashwagandha - Ashwagandha (Brahmi) gives relief to the brain. Make a tea from equal proportions of ashwagandha and brahmi (about 1/3 to 1/2 teaspoon each), steep in a cup of water for about 10 minutes, and drink 2 or 3 times a day.

Lemon Balm - Lemon Balm is another good cure for depression. It helps in alleviating brain fatigue, lifts the heart from depression, and raises the spirits. About 30g of lemon balm should be placed in 1/2 litre of cold water and allowed to stand for twelve hours. The infusion should then be strained and taken in small doses throughout the day.

Fresh Rose Petals - Add some fresh Rose petals to a cup of boiling water. Add sugar and drink whenever feeling depressed.

Adequate Rest - Take adequate amount of proper rest. You should always take atleast 8 hours sleep at night. In day time if you feel depressed, lying down in a dark room or taking half an hour sleep may make you feel better.

Indian Basil (Tulsi) and Sage - Another domestic remedy for depression is a tea made of Indian basil (tulsi) and sage. Use 1/4 teaspoon tulsi and 1/2 teaspoon of sage per cup of hot water; drink twice a day.

Enjoy, Meet with Friends - When you are feelling depressed try to be engaged in some or the other work. Enjoy your favourite recreation. You may also call up any of your best friend or make a surprise visit at his place.

Apple - An Apple eaten with milk and honey is very good to uplift a mood.
