Natural, Herbal Home Remedies for the Treatment of Any Type of Fever
If a fever is mild and doesn't interfere's with your eating or sleeping habits, you may not need any treatment. If the fever is making the patient uncomfortable, however, you should treat it. There are several ways to lower a patient's temperature.
Here are Some of the Common Herbal Home Remedies used for Curing any type of Fever:
Fennel Seeds - Boil 2 tablespoons fennel seeds (saunf) in 1 teacup water till it is reduced to half. Filter it. Take 1 tablespoon of this filtrate, every morning and evening for a few days. You may also use this filtrate for washing your eyes, as it helps in strengthening the eye muscles.
Saffron - A tea made from saffron is another effective home remedy for fever. This tea is prepared by putting half a teaspoon of saffron in 30 ml of boiling water. The patient should be given a teaspoon of this tea every hour till the temperature returns to normal.
Take Cool Baths - Bathe the patient in cool water, about 70°F.
Avoid Taking Solid Foods - Avoid eating solid foods until the fever is gone. You can replace the foods by drinking plenty of distilled water and/or juices.
Back off from Heavy Exercise - Both fever and exercise boost your body's heat production, making your heart work harder. Also, if you can't lose the extra heat fast enough, heat exhaustion could result.
Tulsi Leaves - Extract 1 teaspoon each juice of tulsi leaves and bel flowers. Add 1 teaspoon honey. Take twice a day.
Take good Rest - Rest as much as possible. This will help you in getting well fast.
Warm Bath - Take a warm bath with four to five tablespoons of grated ginger. This will help open pores and expel toxins from the body.
Massage - Have a massage. If you go the nondrug route, having a massage and listening to soothing music helps boost comfort.
