Take Rest: Get enough rest, and there will not be any problem in following this advice as you have to do nothing. Bed rest is very essential as it lets your body put its energy into combating the flu infection. Being active while you're still quite ill weakens your defenses and leaves you open to possible complications.

Eupatorium Perfoliatum: Eupatorium Perfoliatum may help in relieving pain in your bones and eyeballs.

Basil Leaves: Basil Leaves is also good home remedy for the treatment of flu. You may take about 1 gm of these leaves and boil them along with some ginger in half a litre of water till about half the water is left. Now the decoction produced may be taken as a tea. You will surely feel better.

Pamper your Nose: If you've been blowing your nose a lot, it's probably pretty sore. So lubricate your nostrils frequently to decrease irritation.

Cat's Claw: Cat's claw is another very effective herb for a disease like flu and helps to get rid of it fast.

Fruit juice during acute stage: During the initial acute stages of influenza, the patient should be kept away from all solid foods and should be kept preferably on fruit and vegetable juices diluted with water on a 50:50 basis for the first 3-5 days, depending on the severity of the condition.

Vitamins: Increase your intake of vitamins, especially vitamin A and vitamin C and you may also take some supplemental zinc. There is good scientific data to support this practice.

Take Some Heat: One characteristic of the flu is tired, achy muscles. Warm them and ease their pain by applying a heating pad.

Garlic: Garlic is another excellent remedy for influenza. It is useful as a general antiseptic and the patient should take as much as he can bear.

Decrease food Intake: At the first sign of a cold decrease your food intake, or eliminate it completely for the first 24 hours. Take an Epsom salts bath and consume lots of liquids - water and/or lemon balm tea.

Breathe Fresh Air: Make sure that the room in which patient is lying should be getting enough supply of fresh air at all times. This will help him cure more easily.

Avoid Tight Fitting Clothes: Patients suffering from this disease should not wear tight fitting bedclothes.

Consult Doctor: If your symptoms persist or are getting more worse, you must consult your health care provider as soon as possible.
